Responsibilities:
Performs duties in assigned areas to aid in transporting patients and supplies.
Documents maintenance and terminal housekeeping in the surgical area.
Carries out basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in accordance with the standards of care for the center.
Demonstrates the appropriate skills and ability, based on level of training and scope of practice, to care for patients based on the age of the patient.
Age groups may include the infant, toddler, school age/adolescent, adult, and older adult.
Performs patient transport according to established policies and procedures.
Uses correct body mechanics in moving patients.
Uses equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and Facility policy.
Maintains environment according to housekeeping and infection control policies and procedures.
Follows housekeeping guidelines as to responsibility and frequency of surfaces to be cleaned.
Monitors contracted housekeeping staff for correct cleaning methods, if applicable.
Reports on any damaged equipment discovered during routine cleaning.
Follows policy and procedure in handling of hazardous waste.
Uses cleaning agents and equipment according to safety, manufacturer, and Facility standards.
Performs preventive maintenance assignments according to manufacturers' directions.
Monitors effectiveness of pest control service.
Assists in the care of assigned patients as directed by appropriate nursing staff.
Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to patient and family rights, as identified by the Facility.
Performs his/her duties in accordance with the job requirements.
Understands the protocol for responding to emergency situations and the importance of remaining calm in this situation.
Participates in staff meetings, in-service programs, and educational requirements as appropriate.
Communicates all pertinent information, including findings, problems, concerns, or ideas to the assigned nurse, utilizing appropriate lines of authority, in a timely and effective manner.
Promotes a constructive/positive atmosphere within the work area by demonstrating the ability to cooperate with and assist fellow health team members as well as patients and families.
Seeks guidance and assistance from the assigned nurse when knowledge base and skill level is in question.
Qualifications and Education Requirements Certificate of training for Nurse's Aide in the State of Kansas BLS certification Training or experience in a healthcare Facility required Experience in transporting patients preferred Understanding of surgery housekeeping requirements including sterile environments preferred Require high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care assessment activities.
Require ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, to stand for long periods, occasional overhead, and low reaching, and to exert force of up to 50 lbs.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
