Dental Assistant
Description Do you possess a valid Dental Assistant Certification, with the ability to take X-rays in the great state of Kansas? Flexibility of up to 12 hours weekly! Job Corps is a federally funded program that helps those between the ages of 16-24 to complete their educational aspirations in terms of gaining a high school education or one of our trade certifications! 401(k) matching!
Essential Functions:
- Assist dentist in performing services by preparing patients in chair and handling required instruments, equipment and dental plastics.
- Sterilize instruments and keep office stocked with required supplies.
- Arrange and maintain appointment schedule.
- Keep records of patients.
- Act as office receptionist.
- Provide post-operative and oral hygiene instructions as prescribed by the dentist.
- Assist in taking patient X-rays.
- Teach the wellness class in conjunction with career preparation.
- Participate in student employability programs and activities.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance - Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Maintain accountability of students, children and property; adhere to safety practices.
