Event/Logistics Coordinator

About This Role:
The Event/Logistics Coordinator is a key member of K-State Innovation Partners (KSIP) and will assist in supporting K-State's efforts to operate national-caliber industry engagement and economic development practices.
The Event/Logistics Coordinator is responsible for successful execution of meeting and event logistics, coordinating faculty and staff engagement activities, and supporting the industry and economic development staff.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize and manage events and meetings to support the industry engagement and economic development initiatives at KSIP.
Lead the planning and execution of special events supported by KSIP; including but not limited to KibbleCon, Research Showcase, Research Connections, and other events at the direction of the KSIP leadership; coordinating event services, venues, speakers, registration, accommodations, transportation, displays, catering, audio-visual technology, transportation, volunteers, set-up and tear down, and other services as needed.
Serve as lead point of contact at events to ensure satisfaction of participants and resolve any problems that arise.
Generate and distribute any follow-up correspondence to event participants.
Assist in coordinating company site visits, including faculty visits, community tours, and other meetings as appropriate.
Follow-up with meeting participants and ensure meeting action items are completed.
Lead the coordination efforts for KSIP's presence at conferences and trade shows to market K-State for business partnership or economic development prospecting as appropriate.
Event and meeting support will require occasional work outside of normal business hours.
Provide industry and economic development-related staff support.
Assist in researching and collecting university and community information for businesses interested in locating near K-State.
Assist in collecting data to report on KSIP activities to OVPR, KSIP Leadership team and others as requested.
Provide content to Innovation Partners' communications staff to support the development of presentations as needed.
Participate in KSIP staff meetings.
Provide support and/or lead special projects as directed.
Conduct internet research and generate reports as requested.
Provide support and assistance in developing and meeting KSIP annual goals

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree (or commensurate experience) in Business Management, Marketing, Strategic Planning, Hospitality Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.
Demonstrated exceptional communication skills including strong business writing and oral presentation abilities suitable for KSIP and university leadership, other university constituents, and community interaction High degree of motivation, flexibility to multi-task, reliability, responsiveness and attention to detail Ability to build relationships with all levels of individuals - from CEOs and high-level government officials, to citizens, community leaders, colleagues, etc.
Ability to direct the management of large projects, provide regular updates to senior management and deliver quality work under varied time constraints Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools and meeting software (e.
g.
Zoom, Teams, etc) Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and logically Excellent organization and execution skills Consistent demonstration of persistence, conscientiousness, common sense decision making, and discernment Innovative with a can-do attitude Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Strategic Planning, Hospitality Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.
Experience in higher education and/or industry engagement Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to lead and execute strategic business initiatives and provide tactical planning and strategic thinking Other Requirements:
